About Joanne

 Joanne Horn, an experienced human relations consultant, has a background in mental health research and program development.  From 1987 to 2007, she owned Conflict Resolution Service, Inc. -- offering mediation, facilitation, conflict management and training services for both families and organizations throughout Washington State.

A dynamic, engaging adult educator, Joanne has trained diverse populations and specialized in developing interactive curricula for government, corporate, and non-profit organizations. She has served as an adjunct faculty member of Antioch University and taught at the University of Washington Medical School as well as Seattle University and University of Washington law schools.

Actively engaged in the field of aging, as director of Second Half Connections, Joanne provides workshops and discussion groups offering creativity and connection among participants as a means of promoting renewed meaning and direction in the second half of life.  She has earned a certificate of instructor training from the Birren Center for  Autobiographical Studies as well as certificates of Geriatric Mental Health and Memoir Writing from the University of Washington.  She currently volunteers for the Northwest Center for Creative Aging and is writing her own life story.
